I walked by The Randolph* tonight. I like the stained glass with the name at the entrance.

The stained glass lettering is probably from the original construction of the building. Lead paint has been done away with for decades now, but lead is still used in the production of stained glass. It is present in the lead “came” or channel that holds the colored glass in place, and in the solder (50% lead, 50% tin) which connects the came. Is it dangerous? Not really. One would have to touch it and then lick one’s fingers. P.S. As for leaded gasoline, the world has finally stopped using it as well. Algeria has reportedly used the last of its stockpile of leaded gasoline in July of this year.
